  1. Do you have kids? Yes
    How many? 2
Boys or girls? One of each
    How old are they? 1 7and 9
How old were you when you became a parent? I was 20
What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? Knowing from day one that I was going to have to be a single parent and go at it alone.
What is the best part about becoming a parent? The joys of seeing your children grow and learn from your experiences.
What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? Bad! I hate seeing other’s people kids behaving badly…. running around, screaming, talking back….etc

  2. Do you have kids? I have a beautiful little girl who will be 2 in oct

How old were you when you became a parent? I was 29

What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? The hardest part for me has been being a single parent. Believe me, I don’t care what the hood chicks say, it would be much easier raising a child with a partner 24/7. Also trying to balance who you were and who you become after you have your child. Remembering to still take time for yourself.

What is the best part about becoming a parent? The best part for me is seeing her smile at me. hearing her tell me she loves me. Her tight hugs and knowing that she’s smart, healthy and happy and that has everything to do with me.

What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? I don’t like “bad” kids. I can’t stand kids who misbehave in public. I can’t stand parents who let their children throw tantrums in public. I really cant stand a back talking child! just ugh! Why their parents haven’t throat chopped them is beyond me!

*sending y’all some future baby prayers*

  3. No kids. Don’t want children.
Pet peeve with other people’s kids: No manners. But that’s really on the parents. Please teach your children to use “please, excuse me, thank you, etc.”

  4. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them?
No crumb snatchers’ over here. I’m currently leaning more toward the ‘I don’t want kids’ club.

What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? It’s not necessarily the kids but the parents. I absolutely cannot stand when I’m speaking with a friend\family member on the phone and they start a conversation with their child. Um, hello? Do I need to let you go?

  5. I am the vice-president of the Only Child Club. I’m working on my t-shirt that says “One & Done.” (I also have a soon-to-be-stepson as well)

Buddha is great. He’s 5. SS is 11.

I was 25 and I STILL think I was too young. Although I had finished college and had a steady career. It just seemed so….soon.

The hardest part about becoming a parent is letting go of some of your selfish ways. Because the child comes first. Always. And forever.

The best part about becoming a parent? Uh……still trying to figure that out. Lol.

Other people’s kids? I only get to list one? Lol. I despise children that lack manners for their age. If you’re five, you should understand how to be seen and not heard in situations. If you’re 11, you should know how to wash your hands, cover your sneezes, etc. If you’re any age, you shouldn’t talk back to your parent and be disrespectful.

Right now, time is always challenging. I sometimes find myself being absolutely exhausted between caring for her, her needs and myself. She really is a full time job.

◦What is the hardest part about becoming a parent?
The hardest parts were taking care of someone else, worrying about him knowing that realistically I can’t fix everything and make it better and the trial and error of it all.
◦What is the best part about becoming a parent?
Watching him grow into an awesome person and that beautiful smile when all is right with the world.
◦What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids?
Kids who think they are grown b/c their parents treat them as such. A child should stay in a child’s place IMO.

  11. I have 1 daughter who will be 3 in October. I had her at 35. I got preg at 34 and thought I’d miss that “advanced maternal age” label, but nope, still got it! Best thing about parenting is feeling the profound love for my girl. There is so much joy in mothering. It’s a real blessing. The downside has been when she turned two. We did notice a change. She’s still a lot of fun, but not as much as before. Potty training has added its own wrinkle.

I usually don’t mind other kids, unless they’re just out of control.

  12. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them? No. I would like to have a child but I wouldn’t do fertility treatments etc. to have one.
    How many? Boys or girls?
    How old are they?
How old were you when you became a parent?
What is the hardest part about becoming a parent?
What is the best part about becoming a parent?
What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? Everyone has said what I would say so I have nothing to add!

  13. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them?
    – Yes I do
    How many? Boys or girls?
    – one son and 2 bonus daughters (my husband’s daughters)
    How old are they?
    – Doodlebug (son) is 9 months, The girls are 13 and 3
How old were you when you became a parent?
    – I was a fierce 32…
What is the hardest part about becoming a parent?
    – I think the reality of having someone to care for, guide and raise other than yourself.
What is the best part about becoming a parent?
    – Seeing the world through untainted eyes. Children are the greatest and their perception of life is so innocent.
What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids?
    – disrespectful, ungrateful and piss poor attitudes. Mostly stemming from their parents

  14. ◦Do you have kids? If not, do you want them? Yes
◦How many? Boys or girls? 2 girls
    ◦How old are they? 11 and 8
◦How old were you when you became a parent? 22
◦What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? That there is so much that is trial and error. Leading by example. Protecting them from negative influences. Knowing I *have* to do certain things, because it’s what is best for them, but I hate do it. The list is lloonngg.
◦What is the best part about becoming a parent? The love. The opportunity to see and say “I did that” when my kids are a positive reflection of me.
◦What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? I really don’t have any. I’m not around a bunch of other people’s kids that aren’t family, so it’s hard for me to day. Kids (read:parents of said kids) that are in the family have a good understanding of what I will and won’t put up with, so there’s rarely any issues.

4.What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? N/A
5.What is the best part about becoming a parent? N/A
6.What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? Parents aggravate me more than children. Although I am one of those people who thinks parents should get over themselves and limit their children to family friendly places. Room at Hotel 12 in midtown is NOT the place for your restless 3 y.o. at 9 pm on a Friday night.

  16. Do you have kids? Yep
    How many? Boys or girls? 1 boy – 10 and 2 girls – 3 & 4.5
How old were you when you became a parent? 20
What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? It wasn’t that difficult to me because I had just gotten married and I was a stay at home mom. Nothing pops out of my rememberance as being extrodinarily difficult. Breast feeding kinda sucked
What is the best part about becoming a parent? Those kids make me smile EVERYDAY. Sure they get on my nerves everyday too. But they make me ridiculously happy.
What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? Bad and disrespectful. And kids that hover over you when you are eating and you know they want some but they wont ask for it. I know they want it and I wont acknowledge them until they ask for it. Parents please teach your kids to ask.

  17. Do you have kids? Yes

How many? Boys or girls? 2 one of each

How old are they? 3 (boy) and 7 months (girl)

What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? Time Mgmt (Gotta be the wife, the mom, the whore, the cook, the “hazel”, the…LOL)

What is the best part about becoming a parent? The unconditional love that you feel and the added blessing of being able to watch them grow and develop (grateful!)

What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? I’m going to have to co-sign on a previous commenter (Lisa)..it’s not the chil’ren, it’s the parents. “My pet peeve is trifling parents who don’t take the job seriously.”

  18. No kids, and I also am debating on whether or not to just be cool with that. I think I want one, but the older I get, the more I’m thinking I may be cool on that whole thing. I hate kids that aren’t kids. You know…that little girl who walks around talking all sass and thinks she’s on your level because the mother/father talk to her like she’s their friend instead of a child. I HATE that!

  19. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them? YES
    How many? TWO girls
How old are they? 6 and 3
How old were you when you became a parent? 23 years YOUNG!
What is the hardest part about becoming a parent?
Not having enought support and worrying about EVERYTHING! I worry about everything that could affect them. Big and small.
What is the best part about becoming a parent?
The LOVE! The sense of family unit! How close the kids have brought me and the man together.
What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids?
… when kids constantly interrupt grown folk conversation. and raggedy behnd kids who show out in public. 1 or 2 outbursts is ok… but the kids that constantly show out? I see why people lock their kids in the closet.. LOL… JOKIN!!

  20. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them? I have one. Would like another some day.
How many? Boys or girls? 1 boy
How old are they? He’ll be 2 in Sept
How old were you when you became a parent? 32 and turned 33 soon after his birth.
What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? I miss having down time. I get some when he goes to sleep but that isn’t much! I feel like I’m “on” from 5AM-8:30PM and that wears on you.
What is the best part about becoming a parent? Unconditional love like nothing I’ve ever known it. Mine for him – his for me.
What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? Kids are kids – problems come with the parents. I don’t like to see kids showing out in public and at some level that is the parents deal.

  21. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them? I have kid.
How many? Boys or girls? 1 girl.
How old are they? She’ll be 7 next month.
How old were you when you became a parent? 31, turned 32 the next month.
What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? I’m a loner. I miss being alone as often as I’d like.
What is the best part about becoming a parent? The love. Definitely the love. I love other people in my life, but I love my kid the fiercest. And she totally loves me back. That kid thinks I hung the moon.
What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? That they’re not mine. Every kid has their own quirks but I’m used to my kid’s quirks. i will say that most of the children I encounter regularly are good kids.

  22. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them? I have 3.

How many? Boys or girls? a son and 2 daughters.

How old are they? they are 21, 19 and 14.

How old were you when you became a parent? I was 19.

What is the hardest part about becoming a parent? Worrying. You start worrying from the moment they are in your belly.

What is the best part about becoming a parent? The feeling of loving someone unconditionally and having it returned — unconditionally.

What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? Disrespectful children. The type that aren’t taught to “put a handle” on an adult’s damn. The kind of kids that are allowed to get into grown folks conversations. I’m old school — children should only speak when spoken to or they’ll get popped in the mouth.

  23. I don’t have any children, but as of right now, I do want them. Before now, I never thought I would be ok without children, but as I get older, I think I would be ok.
What bothers me about other’s peoples children, is along the lines of what Jubliance said, when people don’t parent, or even pay attention to their children.

  24. Do you have kids? Yes.
How many? Boys or girls? One 6 year old, born of my body, One 17 year old stepdaughter

What is the best part about becoming a parent? Love. Unconditional.
What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? I’m gonna pass on that one.

    • I’m with you on the stepparent thing……chile, chile, chile, chile…..I consider myself to be able to do many things…..this one here though? A doozy, I tell ya.

What is the best part about becoming a parent? Seeing them develop

What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids? My peeves isn’t with the children because they are only a product of the parenting that they received. My pet peeve is trifling parents who don’t take the job seriously.

  32. Yes, I have 1 girl. I would like 1 more (hopefully a boy).

She will be 1 on August 21st!

    I was 27.

So far the hardest part has been time. When I get home it takes every last bit of energy I have to get us ready for bed and prepared for the next day. I’m sure it will get easier as she gets older.

The best part so far has been the fact that I have been able to see something that I created (partly) grow right before my eyes. It is simply amazing.

The only pet peeve I can think of is letting kids run through a store. Another could be….little girls in halter tops, bikinis, showing too much skin. But that may be the prude in me.

  33. * Do you have kids? If not, do you want them? —-Yep!! I have chirrens.
    * How many?—– Boys or girls?- 2 girls, 1 boy

  34. Cus you know I was about to congratulate you on all forms of social media.

  35. ◦Do you have kids? If not, do you want them?
No kids & right now I’m leaning towards being the “cool” auntie & not having kids of my own. Totally depends on if I get married & just really wanna procreate with my hubby. But I’m good with being childless.

    ◦How many? Boys or girls?
    If I did procreate, I’d have 2 max. I’m one of 4 & we were a handful

*Skipping the other questions since they don’t apply to me*

◦◦What is your pet peeve about OTHER PEOPLE’S kids?
I really don’t have a pet peeve about the kids, my peeves are abt parents who don’t actually PARENT. When I was a child my parents were on us & if we were acting out or being disruptive they would nip it in the bud. New age parents let their kids run around the store or restaurant, throw things, just act a damn fool & it drives me nuts. Yes, its hard to control children, but thats what parenting is.
