Shoe Porn

Those that know me, both in real life and from interacting with me online know that I LOVE shoes!! I mean LURVE shoes! And I try to keep my shoe game pretty tight, if I do say so myself. For realllllllllllllll I love ME SOME SHOES!!! (said in my Antoine Dodson voice)..LOL!!

So why am I having such a hard time finding some wedding shoes to wear???

My bridesmaids are wearing silver shoes and I have decided to wear silver shoes as well. I might add much to Myron’s chagrin…he seems to think there is some rule that brides must wear wear white shoes.  (he gets one of these: 0_O)

It’s not that I haven’t found some worthy contenders, I guess what is really holding me back from pulling the trigger on some shoes is that I am really concerned about being comfortable on my wedding day. I will be on my feet a lot, both during the ceremony and at the reception and I would like some shoes that are cute yet comfy.

And yet anyone who is a shoe-a-holic like myself, knows that two are often mutually exclusive. *sigh*

Below are some examples of what I am coming across and none of them has a heel shorter than 4 inches. Normally, I wouldn’t bat an eye and would be entering in my credit card number and clicking the purchase button but since I wanted to be able to walk at the end of the evening, I am quite hesitant.

Dear readers, I’m gonna need some guidance on this one. What did you wear on your wedding day? If you were a bridesmaid or hostess in a wedding what would you suggest?? (Sorry about some of the smaller images, that was as big as I could get them off the DSW website.)

  1. I particularly like the second and third pair – cute!

Why not find a pair of flats to change into when your feet start hurting? No one will be able to see your shoes and you can dance the night away in comfort.

  2. OMG – you should check out the Bakers “Petals” shoes that look like the Mischka’s! I’m really bad, but I tried them on this weekend while I was shopping. So bad, I know. They’re kind-of a grey-silver, but check them out – they’re on sale too:

Can’t wait to see more pics. 😉

  3. I was a bridesmaid last year and found a cute shoe with a 1 1/2 inch kitten heel. I was really worried about being comfortable. I used to wear 3 to 4 inch heels but now I just can’t get comfortable in them like I used to. I think you should do what would make you comfortable and not worry about your feet hurting. As you said you’re going to be on your feet all night.

  4. I think it might be cute if you wore Tiffany blue shoes. pop of color like Gladys said.

Don’t forget to wear shoe pads. I think a closed toed or peep toe shoe might be slightly more comfortable than a strappy shoe. I was in a wedding where the bride chose mary janes for us and my feet were not hurting at the end of the night. Also a thicker heel might be comfortable too. not a grandma heel but not a pencil stiletto. I think inevitably your feel will hurt a little at the end of the night so maybe you could have a cute shoe with a lower heel on hand (that is not a flip flop or a slipper) to wear out.

  5. I love #2 and #4 and neither look comfortable for an entire wedding and reception. I’d get a lower heeled pair for when my feet get tired.

I also like it when I see brides with full length gowns who wear a pop of color on their feet. I’ve seen some loverly hot pink, ruby red and yellow beauties on brides.

  6. One of the big trends in wedding shoes is to wear colored shoes. I think it’s hot to do that. I say wear another color other than silver. I like the third pair of shoes….platform ones.

  7. I wore orange wedge sandals because I got married outside and didn’t want my heels sinking into the ground. No one could see them but at one point I pulled up my skirt to dance and they peeked out and folks laughed because everyone knows how much I love orange.

I like the satin nine west peeptoe at the bottom. Do that!

You could also do some silver sandals no one would see if they were heels or not, just a glimpse every now and then of your toe area.

  8. If your dress is long, no one is even going to see your shoes without asking to see them… if you’re a known shoeaholic I guess a ton of people will ask you. GO COMFORT…. but maybe for the reception only. Just please don’t wear flip flops or bedroom shoes. That trend must end!

  9. The third pair look most comfortable. I’d choose those. They’re cute and the heel isn’t that high.
